DealCloud supports highly configured firm workflows and permissions. That configuration is an asset: relationships, objects, fields, and reporting conventions may encode years of operational decisions. An additional tool should work with that structure rather than assume every tenant resembles a generic contact database.

Imagine a diligence finding that appears in DealCloud, a founder document, and a partner meeting note. Uranus can retain the permitted documents and record a decision with thesis, assumptions, dissent, and revisit conditions. A follow-up then has an owner and evidence request. This is a proposed coexistence workflow to test against the firm’s existing DealCloud configuration and agents, rather than a claim that DealCloud cannot support it.

Use an administrator-approved export or the documented API/SDK with the actual tenant schema. Select object and field scope deliberately, and handle attachments separately when required. Full-site backup is a different operation from onboarding one portfolio-review use case. Public API documentation does not establish the firm’s subscription entitlement. Uranus’s release has generic file mapping and a DealCloud guide, with no live DealCloud connector or writeback.

A first import you can review

  • Ask the DealCloud administrator for the approved object, field and record scope.
  • Export through the documented API/SDK or an administrator-prepared report; retain source object/field IDs and schema.
  • Download selected attachments through documented Files APIs separately. Stage the data for review.

What Uranus adds today

Review the mapping, units, currency, and reporting month before committing. New metrics remain candidates until a workspace owner reviews them. Preserve originals and source identifiers, keep the requested next evidence visible, and attach a reviewed resolution when the work is complete. Export canonical records and version history when you need to move the work again.

This is a proposed workflow based on public documentation, not a paid-account benchmark or a demonstrated performance improvement. Verify the actual entitlement, export schema, and effective permissions with the firm’s administrator. Native formats require customer fixtures before claiming automatic compatibility.
