A Salesforce organization can encode extensive custom objects, sharing rules, field restrictions, and automation. A VC firm should preserve that work when considering an additional operations surface. A new product needs a selected use case and a clear data contract, rather than an unrestricted full-organization dump.

For a fictional investment-review pilot, export the approved company identifiers and relevant diligence fields. Retain supporting documents through a separate approved path. Uranus can connect those inputs to decision assumptions, dissent, conditions, and owner-assigned evidence requests. Compare that complete review cycle with the firm’s existing Salesforce automation and agents; individual workflow features may already be available there.

Salesforce’s broad Data Export permission is different from a scoped object query. API availability also depends on permissions and edition. Have the administrator select the appropriate report, Data Loader, CLI, or Bulk API route, and preserve record types and relationship identifiers. CSV records should not be treated as a complete file or activity archive. Uranus currently offers a Salesforce guide and generic file mapping, without a live Salesforce connector. Any later sync should first prove effective object, field, and sharing scope in a sandbox.

A first import you can review

  • For scoped onboarding, have an authorized admin export selected objects/fields through reports, Data Loader or a Bulk API query.
  • For full backup, Setup Data Export produces CSV archives; keep attachment/documents options explicit.
  • Preserve Salesforce record IDs, relationship IDs, record type and schema. Do not start with an unrestricted full-org dump.

What Uranus adds today

Review the mapping, units, currency, and reporting month before committing. New metrics remain candidates until a workspace owner reviews them. Preserve originals and source identifiers, keep the requested next evidence visible, and attach a reviewed resolution when the work is complete. Export canonical records and version history when you need to move the work again.

This is a proposed workflow based on public documentation, not a paid-account benchmark or a demonstrated performance improvement. Verify the actual entitlement, export schema, and effective permissions with the firm’s administrator. Native formats require customer fixtures before claiming automatic compatibility.
