Standard Metrics focuses on portfolio data and reporting. Its documented hosted data MCP provides authenticated access through OAuth, while API setup follows a separate credential path. That makes it especially important to distinguish reading a user’s authorized data from assuming that an installed connector grants every teammate access.
A possible coexistence workflow starts with a metric exception. Use Standard Metrics for the data collection and reporting process already in place. Bring an approved extract and its definitions into Uranus, link a question to retained evidence, and assign responsibility for resolving it. The result can become a reviewed internal record and a dated partner packet. The intended benefit is continuity of work across sources; it is not an assertion that Standard Metrics lacks agents or operational capability.
For an agent-assisted export, use the actual hosted data MCP with the authorized user’s OAuth session. Documentation access is a different capability. Confirm the user’s funds, companies, and field scope, and respect reauthorization requirements. Uranus’s release has a provider guide and generic mapping, rather than a native Standard Metrics connection. Test the exact permitted export with real fixtures before claiming automatic compatibility with a named report layout.
A first import you can review
- Create an application in firm Settings > Developer Settings, choosing Client Credentials for an authorized export job.
- Choose allowed companies, metrics and date ranges. Export definitions and observations together; preserve documents and budget/actual status.
- For an Excel transfer, snapshot SM.GET outputs with as-of time and keep formulas/source references; review before importing.
What Uranus adds today
Review the mapping, units, currency, and reporting month before committing. New metrics remain candidates until a workspace owner reviews them. Preserve originals and source identifiers, keep the requested next evidence visible, and attach a reviewed resolution when the work is complete. Export canonical records and version history when you need to move the work again.
This is a proposed workflow based on public documentation, not a paid-account benchmark or a demonstrated performance improvement. Verify the actual entitlement, export schema, and effective permissions with the firm’s administrator. Native formats require customer fixtures before claiming automatic compatibility.
